Choose the Sex of Your Baby

The Pregnancy Planner

Calculates preferred days for getting pregnant. Plans are based on the fact that ovulation happens 14 days beforethe next menstrual period.

If you are trying for a boy or girl, the planner will also suggest some actions that many influence the sex of the child, based on the scientific research of Dr Landrum Shettles and David M. Rorvik, who published findings in a book called "How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby: The Method Best Supported by Scientific Evidence."

As ovulation approaches your chances of getting pregnant increase. Before proceeding, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Cycle lengths of more than 35 days are too long for appropriate calculations.
  • Cycle lengths of less than 21 days are too short for appropriate calculations.
  • This calendar cannot be used to reliably prevent pregnancy.

Are You Prepared For A Baby?

By Jean Borgia

You're having a baby…. Are you prepared? Do you know what to expect? Do you know what is normal and what is not?
They say that ignorance is bliss…. Not when you are pregnant. The birth of a baby can be a very rewarding experience if you are properly educated. Not knowing can turn this wonderful experience into a very frightening one. Classes today are not just for the parents who want to go " Natural". Classes cover a wide variety of things from Baby Care, Infant CPR, How to have a healthy pregnancy, Sibling classes and even Parenting 101- pre birth Parenting. That's just an example of what is offered in most of the area hospitals.
Classes are often free or chargr small fees which vary at times
In order to make this service convenient to their customers; the question asked is what does the public want? The answer is education. There is no excuse to not know what to expect. The library has a great number of books and videos, which are great resources. Ask your Doctors office about classes. Some of the doctor's even have classes in their offices.
You should pre-register at your delivering hospital by your sixth month, At that time ask about what your insurance co-pay is for your hospital stay, also don't forget to ask about anesthesia costs, this is separate from your regular hospital bill. A lot of policies do not cover epidural for the labor patient or there is a co-payment. You should do this even if you don't plan on one you always can change your mind especially if you are self-pay you can make payments prior to your admission to the hospital. At this time ask about the classes that they offer. If they are not convenient to your schedule you may go to another hospital to take classes for a small fee. If you are on bedrest…Inquire at your hospital or doctors office there are educators who teach privately in your home for a fee.
Your basic childbirth class covers the labor process, what to bring to the hospital, your pain management options, and the usual procedures that occur while you're in the hospital. Be prepared, because this event will change your life, as you now know it, in a very wonderful way.
Below is a list of a few area hospitals and there phone numbers to register. Hope you and your new baby have A Great Birthday Party!
