February2006
Jackie Collins, one of the world's top-selling novelists, stopped at the West Palm Beach Public Library Sunday, February 12 for tea and a talk about her just-released 24th novel, Lovers & Players. With more than 400 million copies of her books sold in more than 40 countries, and with more than 20 New York Times bestsellers to her credit, Ms. Collins is known for giving her readers an unrivaled insiders knowledge of Hollywood and the glamorous lives and loves of the rich, famous, and infamous!
More than 400 fans requested tickets for the free event, presented by the West Palm Beach Public Library and the Classic Bookshop of Palm Beach and St. Martins Press. The overwhelming response prompted organizers to hold the event in a tent on the East Library Grounds in order to accommodate the crowd.
Ms. Collins entertained her readers with a lively discussion of her latest novel, and answered questions from the audience. Tea was served and readers lined up to buy a copy of Lovers & Players -- personally signed by Ms. Collins.
Were thrilled that Ms. Collins is here with us just days after the release of her latest novel, West Palm Beach Public Library Director Pam Sandlian Smith said. This is an example of thehigh quality programming our library enjoys bringing to the public.
