Loggerhead Club & Marina™ Rings in the Season with Gifts for Toys for Tots and Loggerhead Marinelife Center™

Giving and Holiday Season Begins as Major Sponsor of 2005 Holiday Boat Parade

December 2005

Raymond Graziotto and Partner JC Solomon III, co-owners of nine prime marinas along Florida’s east coast under the Loggerhead Club & Marina™ brand, is delivering an abundance of toys and donations for Toys for Tots and Loggerhead Marinelife Center™ collected at the 2005 Holiday Boat Parade of the Palm Beaches, Saturday, December 3rd, 2005.

“We encouraged all our 2,000 Loggerhead Club & Marina™ members to ring in the new season by contributing gifts for Toys for Tots at the Boat Parade and at our nine Loggerhead Club & Marinas,” said Raymond Graziotto. “Our presence at the parade nurtured the giving spirit-the cash donations gathered at the Boat Parade launch and viewing party will be used to adopt up to twenty (20) endangered sea turtles rescued and slated for rehabilitation at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center™ in Juno Beach. We’ll extend the educational value of this gift by encouraging a fourth grade elementary school class to actually name each of the adopted turtles and track their progress,” continued Graziotto.

Loggerhead Club & Marina™ sponsored the fireworks display and spearheaded the event with the Loggerhead Club & Marina™ Traveling Fireworks Display and hosted a viewing event featuring complimentary food and beverages, games for the kids and on the water viewing for early arrivals. Those attending the party were asked to bring an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots, and encouraged to make a donation to the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, a marine research, education, hospital and rehabilitation center whose mission is to assist injured sea life, especially endangered sea turtles. Thousands of spectators and dozens of decorated vessels of all shapes and sizes participated in the boat parade starting at 6 p.m. at Peanut Island inside the Lake Worth Inlet and running north to Jonathan’s Landing in Jupiter. Loggerhead Club & Marina™ members entered decorated vessels or spent the evening watching the parade and the Loggerhead Club & Marina™ Traveling Fireworks Display from the water on their own vessel, spending a night or two with complimentary dockage at Loggerhead Club & Marina™ - Palm Beach Gardens located within the parade route, or by joining the viewing party hosted by the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County, and celebrating that Loggerhead Club & Marina™ - Riviera Beach, the all new state-of-the-art dry storage marina in Rivera Beach at 2620 Lakeshore Drive was on the parade route.

The Toys for Tots Program encourages annual toy collection and distribution campaigns. Local business leaders play key roles. They allow coordinators to locate drop-off/collection boxes in their Loggerhead Club & Marina stores; provide free warehouse space for storing and sorting toys during October, November and December; provide vehicles to collect toys from drop off sites; sponsor toy raising events; and help coordinators arrange media exposure for Toys for Tots in the local community. At Christmas, coordinators, with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups and other local community agencies, distribute the toys to the needy children of the community.

Loggerhead Marinelife Center™ is the recipient of a major donor gift by Loggerhead Club & Marina™ enabling the world renowned turtle research and rescue facility to build an entirely new 13,000 square foot home with outdoor exhibits on 1-1/2 acres in Juno Beach. The new Loggerhead Marinelife Center is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, protection and preservation of marine resources, especially the Loggerhead, Leatherback and Green Sea turtles. The new research and education facility, to be open to the public by 2006 and built on land adjacent to the current site at Loggerhead Park in Juno Beach, brings national and local scientific researchers to the facility and extends the wildlife conservation and research program benefits worldwide. Juno Beach is located between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean where the beaches are among the densest areas in the Western Hemisphere for nesting endangered loggerhead sea turtles.

Loggerhead Club & Marina™ is fundraising and assisting awareness in the commission of a local artist to design a full-size bronze turtle statue to be located at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center and at every Loggerhead Club and Marina™. The Loggerhead Club & Marina™ – Riviera Beach marina and boat storage facility located near the all weather inlet is nearing completion and reservations for space are well underway.
