Million March Against Child Abuse: Walks to raise awareness and
ask for tougher sentencing for violent crimes against children in the U.S.

West Palm Beach FL, January 11, 2013 — For the first time in American history on April 22, 2013, individuals in over 300 cities and 50 states will join together in national walks to raise awareness of child abuse and crimes against children in the U.S. Cities include Washington D.C., Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Charlotte, West Palm Beach, along with many others. We are asking all citizens to participate.

Location: Palm Beach County Main Court House,
205 North Dixie Hwy. West Palm Beach, Fl. 33401
Time: 7am-5pm

Million March Against Child Abuse (MACA) is a non-partisan, grass roots, nationwide effort to raise awareness of the magnitude of child abuse, to educate the masses and ask our lawmakers for tougher sentencing in violent crimes against our nation’s children.

The walk is spearheaded by Lin Seahorn, Founder of Children Without a Voice (CWAV) out of Atlanta, Ga. (Pronounced C-WAVE). “Children are the world’s greatest natural resource and should be protected more than anything else on earth”, stated Seahorn. “We have to break the silence around the magnitude of crimes against our children right here in the U.S., educate the masses, hold our lawmakers accountable for taking these crimes seriously and keeping violent offenders in prison where they belong. We are asking everyone to join us in the streets on April 22nd.”

For those walking in Palm Beach, you must register by sending your name, phone # and email to: macapalmbeach@gmail.com [2] For further information on the Palm Beach walk: CLICK HERE [3] Those outside of the Metro Palm Beach area can visit the MACA Washington DC facebook page at: CLICK HERE [4] and click on the “About” tab to see if there is a walk scheduled near you. If you would like to Lead, or Co-Lead in your area, email: MACAcoordinator@gmail.com

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month There are nearly 3 million REPORTED child abuse cases each year. However, experts believe the actual number is closer to 9 million as most go unreported. At a recent congressional hearing, experts testified they believe nearly 10 children die each day in the U.S. as a result of child abuse. One out of 6 boys and 1 out of 4 girls will be sexually molested by a close and trusted person before the age of 18.

About Children Without A Voice USA CWAV is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and preventing crimes against children, child abuse and neglect through advocacy and education. They teach classes on Shaken Baby Syndrome prevention, Good Touch/Bad Touch and Anti-Bullying as well as ships free educational materials nationwide. There is a growing nationwide grass roots movement to raise awareness of crimes against children and child abuse in the United States. We continue to see non-reporting of abuse and light or if any sentencing at all passed down in crimes against our children, who are our future. We are asking organizations, businesses, child advocates, churches, supporters, family and friends across the nation to make a unilateral stand against crimes against children, and for tougher sentencing. By uniting all child advocates from across the nation, we hope to bring national attention to this issue, erase the stigma of child abuse, public opinion, the opinion of lawmakers, and most importantly bring hope to millions of children affected by crimes and abuse. Currently peaceful walks are scheduled in over 50 States and 300 Cities on April 22, 2013.

My name _ALIVIA GIANQUITTI_ and I serve on the National Planning Committee for Million March Against Child Abuse in Boynton Beach/West Palm Beach. By supporting a walk in your area, you will be greatly helping to raise awareness of this silent epidemic. We are requesting all Child Advocacy organizations to UNITE in solidarity. Our latest and very exciting news…. PCA Prevent Child Abuse of America a Nationwide Organization has joined us and is supporting our walks around the nation and Linkin park just released a PSA public service announcement for our walks across the Nation.
