 American Idol: Top Three Battle to Be in the Finale
Much of Wednesday's American Idol's performance episode was filled with footage of the top three – Joshua Ledet, Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips – on their hometown visits. It was touching footage of these young performers at home feeling like superstars. But who's going to cash in their Idol ticket for a chance at super-stardom?
They all have potential and they all sang three songs each on Wednesday during three rounds of competition. Song choice was selected by the judges, followed by the contestants, followed by mentor and vocal coach Jimmy Iovine.
Here's how it went down …  Nick Stahl: All About His Disappearance – And His Past
In his most recent film, Nick Stahl plays a man looking for his missing wife.
In a bizarre real-life parallel, Stahl is now missing. While police continue their search for the 32-year-old actor, who was last seen on May 9, the director of 388 Arletta Avenue says he saw no signs of trouble when he shot the thriller with Stahl in Toronto a year and a half ago.
"He was fantastic – not a single problem," director Randall Cole tells PEOPLE. "He was a total professional and knew his lines. There was no diva behavior at all." Nor was there any hint of turmoil between Stahl and his wife Rose, who visited the set along with their then-infant daughter, Marlo. But court documents filed earlier this year tell a different story.
In February, Rose filed a petition calling for child support from her husband. Those papers also state that she would have their daughter 100 percent of the time and Stahl would have eight hours of supervised visitation per week. He was also required to take a drug test within 24 hours of each visitation.

The star, who is in Sydney with husband Joel Madden, a judge on The Voice Australia, spent a family day at the Taronga Zoo with children Harlow, 4, and Sparrow, 2.
They met a friendly giraffe and took turns feeding the animal carrots by hand. Both young and old seemed thrilled by the encounter: The children were googly-eyed, while Richie looked awed as she took photos of the giraffe on her phone.
 Robert F. Kennedy's Wife, Mary Kennedy, Found Dead
Mary Kennedy, the estranged second wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has died. She was 52.
"We deeply regret the death of our beloved sister Mary, whose radiant and creative spirit will be sorely missed by those who loved her," Mary Kennedy's family said in a statement released through her lawyer Kerry Lawrence. "Our heart goes out to her children who she loved without reservation.
According to reports, Mary was found dead at her Bedford, N.Y., home on Wednesday. Police issued a statement confirming they were investigating a "possible unattended death" at her home on Wednesday afternoon. Police reports also confirm that officers found "a deceased individual … inside an out building on that property." But the report withheld the individual's name.  Steven Powell Convicted of Voyeurism
The father-in-law of missing mom Susan Powell was convicted Wednesday of voyeurism in Tacoma, Wash. Police uncovered surreptitious images of Susan and of disrobing girls who lived next door while investigating Susan's December 2009 disappearance.
Steven Craig Powell, 62, was convicted of 14 counts of voyeurism after a weeklong trial that included testimony from the two girls, who were 8 and 9 when the incidents occurred in 2006, and are now 13 and 15.
He faces up to 70 years in prison.
Prosecutor Grant Blinn said in his closing arguments Tuesday that the girls were unaware that Powell was quietly photographing them through an open window. "They had no idea at the time that this defendant was lurking in the shadows of his own bedroom," Blinn said.
 Derek Hough Predicted His Dancing with the Stars Elimination
Coming in first place with 59 points out of 60 after two performances on Monday night's Dancing with the Stars clearly didn't make Derek Hough and Maria Menounos a shoo-in for next week's finals – and no one saw Tuesday's elimination coming better than Hough, himself.
"Derek told me, 'Babe, I think we're getting eliminated tonight,' " Menounos, 33, told PEOPLE backstage after she was dismissed from the show. "And I said, 'Really? You think so? I don't think so.' And he [insisted we were], so I said, 'All right, cool, I'm going to prepare.' "
But there were no tears shed when the dancing duo received word that Hough's prediction was spot-on. |
