Flavorful “Taste” of Palm Beach County Culture
Delighted Travel Industry Attendees

The Palm Beach County Cultural Council’s Group Tour Subcommittee hosted hospitality and travel professionals while they experienced the exciting programming of more than 20 non-profit cultural organizations at the third annual “Taste” of Palm Beach County Culture.  The event recently took place in the Kravis Center Cohen Pavilion.

“Taste” of Palm Beach County Culture presented a great look at why Palm Beach County is Florida’s Cultural Capital. Attendees from the concierge association, various hoteliers, group sales representatives and other destination management personnel mingled among displays from cultural organizations representing some of Palm Beach County’s finest offerings in art, theater, music, dance, film, nature, science and history. These organizations highlighted their rich and varied 2005-2006 calendars while guests enjoyed beverages and culinary goodies. Some lucky participants went home with wonderful cultural door prizes such as concert tickets and museum admissions.

Attendees were delighted by the appearance of Palm Beach Opera’s Poochini, ordinary dog by day, renowned opera-singing dog by night. Guests also marveled at the food. The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens’ exquisitely prepared sushi, and the accompanying Sapporo beer was a very popular hit, as were the gourmet sandwiches from the Norton Museum of Art. Many other cultural organizations presented specialty dishes, and the hosting Kravis Center provided a large assortment of hors d'oeuvres and drinks for all to enjoy. The crowd also took great pleasure in a steady stream of jazz from Susan Merritt and Fly By Night of JAMS.

“It’s wonderful to see so many elements of Palm Beach County culture on display in such a festive atmosphere,” says Bill Nix, Palm Beach County Cultural Council Vice President, Marketing and Government Affairs.

“Presenting so many cultural organizations to travel industry workers is a great way to spread the word about the County’s cultural activities, and why Palm Beach County is Florida’s Cultural Capital.”
