Here is a unique opportunity to create a lasting image that represents cultural excellence in the County
The Palm Beach County Cultural Council is searching for a visual artist to create an exciting object that will be the award for honorees at a new Cultural Excellence Awards program organized by the Council.
This new awards program will recognize the achievements and contributions of the arts and cultural community by County residents, artists, educators, organizations and business leaders. Up to five awards will be given annually. The first awards event is scheduled to take place in November, 2006.
The winning creation can be in any media. The award object will also be a key part of branding and promotion of this signature program and event. The proposed designs should include a space for the award category, the recipient’s name and the date. The winning artist will receive a $1000 honorarium. Award objects should cost no more than $500 to fabricate each of the possible five awards. Semi finalists will receive an honorarium of $300. The competition is open to all Palm Beach County artists at least 18 years old. Applications and guidelines are available at
