The Second Annual Sneak Peek Season Soirée, A Young Friends Cultural Collaborative, brings together Palm Beach Countys young professionals (25 to 50 years old) for an invitation-only evening of cocktails and culture. The Soirée takes place at the Harriet Theater at CityPlace on October 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The Palm Beach County Cultural Council and the Young Friends Cultural Collaborative, which is comprised of Young Friends groups associated with non-profit cultural organizations, hosts the evening. The eleven Young Friends groups participating are:
The Boca Raton Museum of Art
Boca Raton Historical Society
Kravis Center for the Performing Arts
Historical Society of Palm Beach County

Old School Square
Urban League
Young Friends of the Palm Beach Zoo
Guests will include young professionals from across the County who will have the opportunity to learn about various volunteer opportunities and view highlights of the upcoming 2005-2006 cultural season.
Among the civic and professional association members invited are the Corporate Ambassadors, Junior League of the Palm Beaches, Junior League of Boca Raton, Moms Club of the Palm Beaches, Young Lawyers section of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, and the West Palm 100.
This event provides an unmatched networking environment within the cultural community, says Sonya Davis, Vice President, Services and Education for the Palm Beach County Cultural Council.
Returning co-chairs Deirdre Sykes Shapiro and Janet Murphy organized the Young Friends groups to mobilize their members for this season kick-off party, which attracted over 400 attendees last year.
The realization of a personal vision in 2004, Sykes Shapiro notes about this event, We are planting seeds in hopes of cultivating the next generation of leadership who will support the abundance of local arts programming offered in our community. She adds, Cross pollinating the energy and enthusiasm of young professionals with our areas finest cultural institutions creates a mutually beneficial relationship for all involved.
Lead sponsor for the event is the Palm Beach Post; additional sponsors include Continental Catering, Wilesmith Advertising & Design, the Harriet Himmel Theater, WXEL and Dewars Scotch. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served during the evening.
