TALLAHASSEE, April 22, 2004 -- The Thirteenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission meetings to fill the Circuit Court vacancy created by the death of Judge Robert Simms will be held on June 1 and June 2, 2004, at the offices of Cary Gaylord, of the law firm of Gaylord, Merlin, Lodovici, Diaz & Bain, located at 5001 West Cypress, Tampa, Florida 33609.
The meeting on June 1st is scheduled for 4 p.m. The meeting on June 2nd, which will commence with interviews of selected judicial applicants, is scheduled for 4 p.m. as well, but this time may be subject to minor adjustment based upon the outcome of the June 1st meeting. In any event, both meetings will be held at the office of the Gaylord law firm, address as noted above.
Applications for this judicial vacancy must be received no later than 5 p.m. on May 10, 2004, at the offices of Hill, Ward & Henderson, P.A., Bank of America Plaza, 101 E. MIAMI ATTORNEY BENEDICT P. KUEHNE WINS FLORIDA BAR BOARD OF GOVERNOR POSITION

TALLAHASSEE, April 27, 2004 -- The 2004 Florida Bar Board of Governors elections have been completed with Benedict P. Kuehne, of Miami, filling the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, Seat 7. Kuehne will serve a two-year term beginning June 25, 2004.
The Bar's 52-member board consists of the president and president-elect, the president and president-elect of the Young Lawyers Division, representatives elected by members of the Bar from each of the state's 20 judicial circuits, four out-of-state representatives elected by Florida Bar members who reside outside of Florida, and two public members appointed by the Florida Supreme Court. The Board of Governors has exclusive authority to formulate and adopt matters of policy concerning the activities of the Bar, subject to limitations imposed by The Rules Regulating The Florida
Bar.
