The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino hosted a Celebrity Charity Media Pro-Am 9-ball pool tournament on Wednesday June 28th. The wonderful Vivian Villarreal set up this glorious charity event that will help assist Vivians Kids. Vivians Kids is a foundation that helps exploited and missing children in the South Florida area.
The players consisted of select WPBA players, NFL players, and certain others (including sponsors, media and Johnny Archer, the number 1 ranked mens pool player). The worlds No. 1 ranked womens pool player Allison Fisher Duchess of Doom, Jeannette Lee Black Widow, Daunte Culpepper, and Michael Irvin were only some of the huge names partaking in this wonderful event.
This charity event was open to the public for 10 dollars admission, and for an extra 20 dollars fans could pick any of their favorite stars to play against one on one. Autographs of fans favorite pool players, as well as a wide range of sports players memorabilia ranging from a Miami Heat signed basketball to a Michael Irvin autographed UM jersey, were being auctioned off as well in order to help benefit Vivians Kids.
The 2006 Cuetec Cues Florida Classic (WPBA) from June 29th to July 2nd will also be hosted by the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
For any of the younger ladies out there wondering if they will ever get a shot at playing in the WPBA, we caught up with a few of the WPBA players.
Before every match I always listen to Cant Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe, by Barry White. It motivates me. According to Vivian Villarreal, as long as youre motivated you can accomplish anything you would like. I like to get away, go to the bathroom, my hotel room, etc. and just imagine myself playing my best pool, says Black Widow. Allison Fisher a.k.a. Duchess of Doom was quoted as saying Dedication is extremely important, get a coach, and practice, practice, practice.
If you would like to contact Vivians Kids you can reach them at 954-966-6300 ext. 1295.
